Abstract

nasal septum, a central structure within the facial anatomy, plays a significant role in forensic science as a diagnos????c tool.
This review examines the applica????on of nasal septum analysis in forensic inves????ga????ons, highligh????ng its u????lity in
iden????fica????on, trauma assessment, and the differen????a????on between post-mortem and ante-mortem injuries. The nasal
septum’s unique anatomical features, including devia????ons and fractures, can serve as cri????cal markers in cases where other
iden????fica????on methods are challenged. Furthermore, the review discusses how congenital and trauma-induced devia????ons
provide insights into a vic????m’s medical history and the events leading to death or injury. The integra????on of advanced imaging
techniques, such as CT scans and MRIs, has enhanced the precision of forensic analysis, allowing for detailed assessment of
the nasal septum’s condi????on. This ar????cle underscores the nasal septum’s value in forensic diagnos????cs, emphasizing its
relevance in both criminal and civil inves????ga????ons
